September - December 2021 | work shown at Tangent Projects, Barcelona, 2021

The space of this is a dysfunctional stretcher.

Unworthy of ambulances, its only ability lies in supporting the flattened. But even this stretcher itself is supported by weights, elevated from the floor, in attempts to transcend something.

These weights are not complex; they are the the spaces of other paintings, levelled up with broken ceramic tiles and bookends.

At the top and tail, two objects - vertical - face each other in a silent encounter.

One is tall, a slim, metallic and hollow shell. It used to support beams of light from a ceiling. Its wires, its modes of connection, are pulled outwards, forming seductive bumps and loops, twirled around and about it.

The other is shorter, a former window frame, turned on its side, in a frozen handstand, the soles of its feet bared, its skin peeling away in layers, in traces of pastel greens and pinks.

A soundless, unplayable instrument. Undone, in perpetual states of potential.
